NannyPod’s Plan To Uber-fi The On-Demand Childcare Industry (and reward those who help!)

In 2009, Uber started in San Francisco with a bunch of drivers. It’s now available in almost every major city and worth $69 billion, with a share price of $35 per share (as of April 1st 2022). NannyPod has the exact same goal. To disrupt and commoditize the childcare industry, and make access easy for every parent on the planet.

Remember hailing a cab with a whistle? Those days are gone thanks to Uber and Lyft. Remember frantically texting, calling and message childcare providers on Facebook groups? Those days are about to be gone as well thanks to NannyPod!

This may not have occurred to most people, but there are far more families on the planet with children than people who take taxi rides. We all know that most parents need childcare at some point… whether it’s to run to the store, hit the gym, take a business meeting or just get a break for a few hours. Is this need as frequent as people using taxis? NannyPod certainly believes it is. However the data is hard to access because many families use a friend, neighbor, family member and usually organize it manually by phone or text message. Hence, the data is invisible. It can’t be tracked easily.

However, what if there was a way for parents to simplify the way they make childcare requests to friends, neighbors, family members, with the option to ping extra local childcare providers? That’s where NannyPod comes in. This is our goal. To help EVERY parent make this super easy. Our goal is to make sure parents are never without childcare again. Ever.

So how is NannyPod marketing and growing? Well, mainly organically through Google, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, SnapChat and even Pinterest. We shoot out the occasional email blast. We also use State Area Managers with special marketing kits and discount coupon codes for families. State Area Managers make money from helping families find part-time or full-time nannies, where there is more involved than just choosing someone for a last minute childcare request or occasional need.

If you’re thinking about running a Nanny Agency or already have one, then becoming a State Area Manager for NannyPod may be a great way for you to capitalize on the upside of NannyPod. You will also simplify your operations.

Think about if you were to receive shares in Uber in 2009 when the company first commenced? NannyPod is offering managers free shares in exchange for helping us promote the name and get more traction. If you have thought about it, NOW is the time to get involved.

Managers receive 250 shares every quarter (conditions apply). However, if you run your Nanny Agency via NannyPod for 5 years, then potentially that could add up to 1000 shares per year, for a total of 5000 shares. If the shares end up being worth $10 per share, then that equates to $50K. Now obviously this is hypothetical, however it gives context to the potential upside of joining a company at the early stages. If only Uber had given shares to their first managers and drivers…

If this sounds interesting, then please apply as a State Area Manager via this link and look for the email to set an interview. If you do not see your city, please apply to the city nearest to you. Thank you.

What to Look for When Choosing a Childcare Centre

Choosing the right childcare for your toddler or child can be a daunting task in today's world of possible daycare centers and preschools to choose from. But when you are sick, tired, out of work, or simply need some time away from your youngster you truly want what is best for them while you are not around to supervise every that they are with someone else.

NannyPod Blog - Parenting Tips to lower childcare expenses

Choosing the right childcare center can be difficult. You need to make sure that your child is happy, comfortable, and well-cared for at all times. There are many important factors that you should look out for when searching for a daycare facility. The following tips will help you avoid falling into the 'trap' of choosing substandard childcare centers or schools that may not offer what children need or parents want!

The Type of Activities Presented There

You should feel confident that your child will be active while in childcare and preschool. There should be an organized program that offers a variety of activities to suit toddlers and preschoolers alike. You need to feel that your child is learning new things every day and not just sitting around watching television or playing with toys. There should also be time for them to play so they can recharge their batteries. As explained by professionals from Mother Duck Childcare, there are many benefits of engaging in stimulating activities that will not only allow them to grow and learn but also help them to have fun with other children. If this is not being offered then your child may become bored, restless, and agitated while in daycare which can be very bad for their behavior.

Make Sure the Center is Licensed

The first thing to remember is to always check if an establishment is licensed by local authorities. If they are not, then it may be due to them being unlicensed so move on to another childcare center. Or it could indicate their practices or facilities do not meet the necessary standards required for such a license. This does not mean that daycare centers and preschools with such licenses meet certain set guidelines, however, they all should address the health, safety, and welfare of children under their care. If you have any specific concerns regarding a facility, do not be afraid to ask the management.

The Child's Comfort Level

Does your child like it there? Are they happy to go each day and do they enjoy the company of the staff and other toddlers? Also, make sure you can trust them to look after your little one properly! You want a caregiver who will be kind and nurturing to your child as if they were their own; someone who will understand or even anticipate what your toddler wants so as better serve them such as offering snacks! However, within reason naturally. If something is out of place ask why. If you feel like your child was not treated well by any staff members or caregivers then take action.

The Staff's Qualifications and Expertise

Within your chosen childcare center or school, there should ideally be at least one staff member who has been well-trained or has a degree in early childhood education or care. They should also have the proper licensing as required by law as well as any additional training and qualifications catered to your child's age group! Additionally, staff members must be well versed in CPR, first aid, and have passed drug tests. Furthermore, they should be open to discussing current health issues that could affect preschoolers such as ear infections for instance which may occur due to a lack of hygiene within a childcare center!

A Clean Environment Every Day

When the center appears unclean, it could indicate that they do not care about hygiene, which may result in illness spreading more easily among children, also resulting in more frequent illnesses for your child. It may even mean the management team has no actual rules for staff members regarding cleanliness within childcare centers! This can onto other problems too, such as staff not following rules regarding other aspects of the facility, such as diaper changing.

Maintaining a clean daycare center can be difficult due to the nature of typical toddler accidents. However, every staff member should still understand basic cleaning procedures - like washing their hands before touching or feeding another child to avoid spreading germs! It is also important for parents to know that their children are in good hands; you want all employees at your childcare center to take pride in what they do and understand how important it is for them to keep this space safe for kids.

A Loving and Nurturing Staff

While you may be busy during the day, you need to know that your child is receiving plenty of attention and love from those with who they spend time! A good childcare center will have individuals at hand who understand children and can give them lots of affection and praise as well as spend plenty of one-on-one time with each child. If their caregiver is paying attention to their needs both emotionally and physically then they are sure to grow into happy well-adjusted kids. The staff should also create a bond with your child, this means that all members are approachable, loving, caring, supportive, knowledgeable about developmental milestones for each age group, patient with both parents' newfound lack of sleep due to your child's young age, and understanding of your child's needs for security.

A Consistent Routine

While it is perfectly normal for children under the age of three to have a less structured day while in childcare, there should be some sort of schedule set out every day which will make them feel familiar and comfortable. It is important that they not only know what is going on but also understand the order in which things occur; if it's snack time, they need to know lunch is next and bedtime follows after that! Additionally, they should also go through similar motions each day such as putting their toys away before nap time, coming indoors when certain music plays, having story time after snack time, etc. This will make your child feel comfortable with their routine and the staff as well, increasing the likelihood that they will have a wonderful time!

To find a good childcare center or school, you can use this checklist of things to consider when choosing one. As long as it meets most of these points, then chances are you have found a place that is respectable and reliable! In case your preschool does not meet all of these requirements, remember that it is still possible to find a good one out there so don't give up immediately. You can continue looking until you find an option that is suitable for your family's needs and which also suits your little one's temperament and abilities.

The 'Uber of Childcare' - The NannyPod App

NannyPod who has frequently been dubbed the ‘Uber of childcare’ is launching a $400,000 Kickstarter campaign across the USA.

NannyPod App - The Uber of Childcare

NannyPod, a technology company that built a super-fast childcare app in July 2021 is launching an expansive Kickstarter campaign. The goal is to raise awareness that it is the lowest-fee and most simple childcare app available. The funds will help NannyPod market the app to childcare providers across the country. “We will use a variety of mediums such as TikTok, SnapChat, social media influencers, PR campaigns, strategic partnerships along with traditional advertising on Google. Our mission is to help every parent access childcare, anytime and anywhere,” said Hannah Salters, VP of ECommerce. “The Kickstarter campaign rewards start out at just $20 for 3 free months to the app.”

Best Nanny App With Filters

How does the app work? Well, moms and dads can register and make requests in under a minute. Parents pay $8 per month to make unlimited childcare requests. Paying childcare providers via the app adds a flat $2 fee on top of the total amount. Tax credits or a Dependent Care FSA help offset childcare expenses. The low fee app is the fastest way to find childcare and pick up jobs on the fly in the gig-economy. The platform is entirely free to all childcare providers and allows them to keep 100% of their earnings. By the way, there are great rewards for backers supporting the NannyPod Kickstarter campaign.

Childcare App like Uber No Cash Needed

“Our goal is to simplify family life, and help childcare providers work at their convenience,” stated Kevin N. Hedges, CEO & Co-Founder. “The Kickstarter campaign has 6 reward levels for backers. The best value reward is the free lifetime subscription for $240. It’s unbeatable. We hope to help every parent on the planet access childcare in an instant. Being stranded with the kids 24/7 is challenging, and we are here to solve that. Being part of our journey via Kickstarter will help make our solution available in every city,” says Hedges. Background check badges by SafetyPIN are highly recommended for all users and clearly visible in the app.

NannyPod’s mission is to help every single parent access childcare fast, just like Uber and Lyft helps drivers and passengers ride-share globally.

Six Great Childcare Apps

Parenting apps to help simplify your life are all the rage these days, especially ones that provide entertainment for your kids or help you access childcare quickly when you’re in a bind.

This blog article gives you an objective view on childcare apps, what to expect from a cost perspective and how they work. Read on to find out more…

NannyPod

Obviously we are somewhat biased when it comes to tooting our own horn about the NannyPod app. NannyPod launched its new super-fast childcare app in July 2021. It is the lowest cost childcare connectivity mobile app in the industry. It’s fast and simple to use.

Pros: No subscription needed, low fee background checks, easy to use filters

Cons: Credit card must be added to pay childcare providers (no cash option)

Overall: 9/10

Bambino

This company is somewhat new to the industry. They’ve done a great job at creating a smooth app with lots of features, even if it looks a bit busy. A little like UrbanSitter, it connects you via friends and neighbors to childcare providers.

Pros: Comprehensive features

Cons: A little overloaded

Overall: 8.5/10

SitterCity

SitterCity has been around for quite a while. They’re on par with Care.com from an age perspective, although somewhat behind the curve of their nemesis from a features point of view. They also do senior care and pet care.

Pros: Good all round platform, nice images

Cons: Pricey subscriptions, different apps needed

Overall: 8.5/10

Nanno

Nanno is another new provider in the childcare app space. They’re gradually building a presence, although they do have a few things to fix on their app.

Pros: Comprehensive vetting process

Cons: App seems to have a few issues at present

Overall: 6.5/10

UrbanSitter

A nice interface for parents to find childcare, although one may argue that they could have improved a bit more over the years. They’ve branched out into senior care, pet sitters and household help.

Pros: Connects you via Facebook friends and groups

Cons: Shares your information

Overall: 8/10

Care.com

The behemoth in the industry which started out of Boston MA. They’ve branched out into pet care, elder care and even home-sitters. Definitely the most expensive platform coupled with various caveats for cancelling.

Pros: Multiple services on one platform

Cons: Expensive subscriptions and background checks

Overall: 8.5/10

Summary

We think it’s a good idea to use a few apps for the same function e.g. Uber and Lyft, or OpenTable and Resy. That way, you always have a back-up plan if one is not getting you what you need.

As a side note, NannyPod recently incorporated the most technologically advanced background check feature called SafetyPIN, that includes ongoing monitoring for a low monthly fee. Background checks are purely optional, but strongly recommended for all users so as to keep the NannyPod community a generally safer place.

Where else can you find, book and pay for childcare in seconds, for hardly any fees? If you have some ideas or information to include in our next blog article, please email info@nannypod.com thank you.

NannyPod's Super-Fast New Childcare App

Families can get set up and make requests in under a minute, helping the company capture some of this $30 billion industry. Parents can opt to pay $8 per month for unlimited bookings. When you pay a babysitter through the app, there is an extra $2 Safe Pay fee. Thus paying a babysitter $30 while you had a date-night would only total $32, plus the monthly fee. You can then get the childcare tax credit or use your dependent care FSA to offset the cost! The low fee app is designed to be the fastest way to find childcare anytime you need it and pick up jobs on the fly in the gig-economy. The platform is entirely free to all childcare providers and allows them to keep 100% of their earnings.

“Our platform simplifies family life on a daily basis, and helps childcare providers earn more money,” stated Kevin N. Hedges, CEO & Co-Founder. “The app combines all of the features you’d expect when trying to book a babysitter or find a nanny, including filters for ratings, pay rates, CPR certifications, experience and more. What makes it really special is the speed at which it works. Parents can also pick childcare providers who have a background check with continuous monitoring. Our core childcare services include infant care specialists, babysitters, nannies, homework helpers and tutors. There’s even a pick up / drop off service for families whose kids are always at activities. The all-in-one solution for childcare is accessible in every city across the USA,” says Hedges. It’s recommended parents invite some sitters and friends they already know to the app, then make childcare requests as needed.
